Risk grade determined, complete program and documented drills — no surprises at inspection.
NOM-002-STPS-2010 sets the fire prevention and protection conditions for workplaces: from determining the site's fire risk grade to the emergency plan, drills and fire equipment maintenance. It's one of the standards every plant must demonstrate, regardless of industry.
We review your program against the text of the standard, close the gaps and leave the evidence organized: risk classification, emergency response plan, extinguisher records, drills and training — all traceable by requirement.
Classification of the workplace (ordinary or high) from its built area and its inventory of materials.
Response procedures, evacuation routes and defined owners.
Extinguishers and fixed systems with scheduled checks, records and current maintenance.
At least one a year at ordinary risk and two at high risk, documented with evidence: scenario, participants and results.
Personnel trained according to the risk grade, with certificates and programs.
Housekeeping, signage, routes and controls in areas with flammable materials.
Fire prevention & protection program, checks and documentary evidence ready for review.
1–3 weeks (facility-dependent)
No noise: three verifiable phases. Deliverables defined before starting.
Operation + evidence + gaps prioritized by impact and urgency.
Structure, versions, records, full evidence index.
Open items closed by criteria. Package audit-ready.
It's determined from the built area and the maximum yearly inventory of flammable gases and liquids, combustible liquids, combustible solids and pyrophoric or explosive materials, applying the table and formula in Appendix A; with 3,000 m² or more of built area the risk is already high. It's the first thing we calculate, because the rest of the obligations derive from it.
The standard requires at least one a year at ordinary risk and two a year at high risk. What matters for a review is the evidence: scenario, participants, times and documented conclusions.
No. We verify that the program, monthly checks and records are in order, and coordinate with your maintenance provider when needed.
NOM-002 is a labor (STPS) standard; civil protection filings are separate. The good news: much of the evidence serves both, and we leave it organized so you can reuse it.
